Os Amantes, formed by a partnership between the singer, composer, actor and producer Jaloo, and guitar and experimental duo Strobo, debuted their first eponymous album sponsored by Natura Musical on the 10th of June 2021. Jaloo is one of the most important names in the Brazilian contemporary scene. Born in Castanhal, Pará, since the beginning of his career, he has stood out as a producer of innovative sounds that move between the roots of music from Pará and the sophistication of his beats, combined with creative and unique poetry. The artist has already received praises from the Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes, and his first album, #1 (2015), was artistically directed by legendary musician and producer Carlos Eduardo Miranda. In 2019, he released ft (pt 1), an album made with several guests, including Karol Conká, Céu, MC Tha, Charles Tixier, Manoel Cordeiro and Lucas Santtana. Strobo is composed by Léo Chermont (guitar and effects) and Arthur Kunz (drums and programming) and through the mixture of synthetic and acoustic timbres, they bring a pop appearance to instrumental music, resulting in an Amazonian sound with a worldwide feeling. Created in 2011, the duo has released four albums: Strobo (2011), Delírio Cromático (2012), Mamãe quero ser pop (2014) and 4 (2016), and several collaborations. In this episode of Lampeja, Jaloo will tell the story of the composition of the track "Colchão", by Os Amantes, and in the sequence, you will hear a playlist of incandescent Brazilian music, with a diversity of colors, genres, generations and rhythms.
Listen to the entire show here, aired on the 21st of June 2021, at FM Cultura from Porto Alegre.

"'Colchão' came from an old love story. It's about my first love. I remember we lived far away from each other and when was around 11 pm... What happened? The train was about to close and he would have to go home, but I always said: 'Hey! So if you miss the train, don't worry, there's always a space here on my mattress.' And in addition to this beautiful, very simple love story, it also has a lot of musical references. I think the biggest one is very clear, which is the sound of Bahian music. There's a lot of Novos Baianos too, but together, of course, all the references came from current tunes that we acquired in 2021." Tells Jaloo.
