The singer, songwriter, curator, producer, activist, actress and businesswoman from Bahia Larissa Luz evokes her faith in "Cante Pra Chamar", a song written “at the height of the pandemic”, as she says. The song also features a speech by religious leader, educator and activist Makota Valdina, and a video clip made by women and directed by Juh Almeida, celebrating rituals of energization and optimism, so present and significant in the artist's trajectory. With three albums released, Larissa's story carries many challenges and recognitions. She has already led the vocals of the legendary Bahian axé group Ara Ketu, played Elza Soares in "Musical Elza" and was nominated for the 2016 Latin Grammy in the category of Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese for the album Território Conquistado. In this episode of Lampeja, Larissa tells the story of her most recent achievement, the track "Cante para Chamar", which was built in collaboration with the popular orchestra Rumpilezzinho, formed by young people from the outskirts of Salvador and led by the conductor, educator and composer Letieres Leite. And then, you hear a playlist of sparkling Brazilian music.

"'Cante Pra Chamar'" brings the collaboration of Rumpilezzinho, which is a musical project conceived by Letieres Leite, conductor I've been working with for some time, who I adore and have the greatest respect. When he invited me to create a new song, I immediately remembered of "Cante Pra Chamar". Firstly, because it was a lyric that I wrote during the height of social isolation, so I thought it dialogued with everything we were going through, and that the result would be very gratifying. Also for the impact it could have on people's lives. I thought that probably a lot of people were going through the same feeling I was there, dealing with difficulties, demands. Everything this period brought to us. The song talks about faith, about our connection with our selves, with our way of worshiping spirituality and with this truth that comes closer when we are alone, dealing with our silent. I wanted to talk about it. I produced it initially at home, in my studio, and suddenly, when this invitation came, I put the two things together: I sent the pre-produced song and the boys from Rumpilezinho, Jordi, together with Letieres, arranged the single along with what I already have done. And then "Cante Pra Chamar" came out. I hope you listen with an open heart so that you too will transcend and connect with what is deepest in your soul. And don't lose faith, don't lose hope in a near future, a better one for everyone around us.” declares Larissa Luz.
