BaianaSystem is the result of four creative thinking minds. Founded by the Bahian guitarist Roberto Barreto, with the production of Seko Bass, the innovative and plural personality of the vocalist Russo Passapusso and the authenticity of the visual artist Filipe Catarxo, the band brings a melting pot of intercontinental references that walk through rhythms such as frevo, dub, chula , dancehall and raggamuffin. On the 23th of April 2021, the band landed their fourth album, OxeAxeExu, which brings 21 songs divided into 3 acts, Navio Pirata, Recital Instrumental and America do Sol. In this radio show, Russo Passapusso talks about the track "Brasiliana", which includes the participation of Chico César on vocals, and Mintcho Garrammone on the touches of the Bahian guitar and the bandoneón. "The name 'Brasiliana' was given to a kind of library from the time of the supposed 'discovery' of Brazil. There were file centers that were taken to these 'Brasilianas' and distributed around the world. These researchers came to Brazil, collected this information and took it to this 'Brasilianas'. Because it is a cumbia, the song honors South American rhythms. Cumbia brings a very interesting combination of sounds, as it passes through the countries of Latin America and absorbs the characteristics of each place. In our case, it is fused and mixed with the identity of the Northeastern Cumbia. Chico César's participation in this song also fit like a glove, interacting with the context of the musicality, the lyrics and the story being told there. The idea of ​​our accent, wonderful, northeastern, is also strong in this song. There is also the participation of Mintcho Garramone, who has already done many other compositions with us, such as "Lucro", which is another track that addresses Latin rhythms. BainaSystem is passionate about the rhythms of our continent and we try to mix and dive into it, getting in touch with people from Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico, to bring this musical mix," explains Russo Passapusso.
